District News:
  • The Strategic Plan Goal 5 Students Implementation Team is planning a Growth Mindset initiative for September.  In order to assess students’ attitudes toward school, peers, and self, a survey will be given to all students in grades 3 through 8 over the next few weeks.  Click HERE to see the letter from Dr. R. sent home with students in grades 3 through 8.  Click HERE to view the survey.
  • At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Education changed the 8th grade graduation date to Thursday, June 16, 2016.  Burlington City High School’s graduation date is Friday, June 17, 2016.  
  • EPTSD Schools will be closed from Friday, March 25th through Friday, April 1st.  Schools will reopen on Monday, April 4th.  Happy Spring Break!!
  • The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 6:30 pm in the Ridgway Library.  This meeting will include a public hearing on the 2016-2017 District budget.
  • The Bond Referendum webpage has been updated and now includes updates on upcoming projects.
  • A Steering Committee is now being formed to establish an Educational Foundation to support alternative funding for the Edgewater Park Township School District.  If you are interested in serving on the Steering Committee, please contact Shannon Gillece at shannon.gillece@gmail.com by April 15th.  Click HERE to see an invitational flier.

Magowan School News:
  • All students will practice a Bus Evacuation Drill on Wednesday, April 6th.
  • Third and Fourth grade students will begin taking the PARCC test in April. Specific information will be provided to the students.
  • Kindergarten students will visit the Aquarium on April 20th.
  • Second grade students will travel to the Philadelphia Zoo on April 21st.
  • Fourth grade students will dig for fossils at Rowan University’s Fossil site on April 22nd. Students MAY be  returning to school after the 3:00 dismissal time. Please plan accordingly for your child.

Ridgway School News:
  • PARCC testing will run from April 11th through May 14th.
  • The 6th grade camping trip will be from May 4th through May 6th.
  • The Spring concert will be on May 18th at 7:00 pm.
  • 5th grade trip to Philadelphia will be on June 6th.

PTO News:
  • Our next PTO meeting is Monday, April 4th at 7pm in the Ridgway Library.  We are looking for people to help plan and chair events throughout the year.  
  • Square One Art Orders are expected to arrive on April 12th.
  • Pizza & Deli Night is April 19th.  Order between 4-8pm and mention our schools when ordering.

District News:
  • At last night’s Board of Education meeting, a change was made in the 2016-2017 District Calendar.  The in-service day originally scheduled for 10/7/16 was changed to 10/10/16.  Therefore, students will attend school  on 10/7/16 and will not attend on 10/10/16.  Click HERE to see the revised calendar.  
  • The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 6:30 pm in the Ridgway Library.  
  • The EPTSD staff has contributed $1,619.00 to the South Jersey Public Employee Charitable Campaign.  Thanks to our staff for their generosity!
  • Thursday, March 24, 2016 will be a 4-hour day for students and staff.  Schools will be closed from March 25, 2016 through April 3, 2016 and will reopen on Monday, April 4, 2016.
  • The Edgewater Park Athletic Association will hold a Wing Fling on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Throwbacks Bar & Grill, 2929 Route 130 South, Delran, NJ.  Click HERE to see the flier.

  • School Superintendent, Dr. Rakszawski, will hold an Open Forum meeting for parents on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the Ridgway Library.  Topics will include:  Strategic Plan update and Construction Updates.  The floor will also be open for topics of your choice.


Magowan School News:
  • Magowan’s March Madness will come in the form of school spirit! Our Student Council has planned some fun theme days to be celebrated each Friday in March.
  • March 4th ~ Pajama Day to help celebrate Dr. Seuss and the love of reading.
  • March 11th ~ Character Day to show that we have good character.
  • March 18th ~ Mismatch Day to prove it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s the inside that counts. Being a good person never goes out of style.
  • March 24th ~ Team Sports Day because Magowan School is a winning team!
  • Read Across America will be celebrated on Friday, March 4th.  We would love guest readers!
  • Pre K Report Cards will be sent home on Thursday, March 3rd.
  • March 24th is an Early Dismissal day with NO afternoon Latchkey services.
Ridgway School News:
  • The Ridgway National Junior Honor Society will hold a Smashburger dining event on March 2nd.  Click HERE for details.
  • We would like to congratulate our Hawk basketball teams for another great season.  The Lady Hawks finished the season 15-2, and 2nd in the conference.  The Hawks team finished 20-0, with a conference league championship.  
  • The annual talent show will be March 10, 2016 at 7pm in the Ridgway Cafeteria.  


PTO News:
  • All PTO Board positions will be open at the end of the school year.  If you are interested in running on the PTO Board for the 2016-17 School Year please email edgewaterparkpto@gmail.com
  • Ridgway Book Fair will run the week of March 7-11th.  Evening fair will be held on Thursday, March 10th.  If you are able to volunteer at all please email edgewaterparkpto@gmail.com

District News:

  • Click HERE for the latest on the impending winter storm.  School closing and delayed opening information will be communicated on our district website, robo-calls, emails, Facebook, and TV Channels 3, 6, 10, 29.  Be safe.
  • The Board of Education will hold a special election on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 9:00 pm.  The election is for a bond referendum to finance improvements throughout the district.  Click HERE for more information.
  • Schools will be closed on February 12th and 15th.  
  • The next regular Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 6:30 pm in the Ridgway Library.  

Magowan School News:
  • We will kick off the 3rd Marking Period on Wednesday, January 27th with a Ronald McDonald Assembly focused on Magowan’s Core Values… Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Caring and Be Safe.  
  • The Ring in the New Year Breakfast with Mighty Max is postponed to Saturday, January 30th. All are welcome to come out and enjoy some breakfast while socializing with friends and neighbors.  A big thank you to our staff and PBSIS Team for planning and sponsoring this event!
  • Magowan School is in need of support staff working in the classrooms and lunchroom.  Please call Magowan office at (609) 877-1430 if you are interested in learning more about the opportunities.  

Ridgway School News:
  • Ridgway’s Annual PBSIS Roller Skating Incentive trip will be held on January 29th for 5th - 6th grade students who have not had a disciplinary infraction from November 3rd - the day of the trip.  
  • Ridgway’s SweetHeart Dance for 7th and 8th grade students will be February 19th.

PTO News:
  • Our next meeting will be held on Monday, February 1st at 7pm in the Ridgway Library.
  • Please note that all board positions will be up for election for the 2016-17 school year.  If you are interested in filling any of the positions, please attend our meetings and email us at edgewaterparkpto@gmail.com  Your help is needed to keep this wonderful organization going.
  • Box Tops are Due 2/19/16

  • Students have started working on their Square One Art Pojects.  Order packets will be arriving and sent home in Early March.

District News:

  • The next Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Ridgway Cafeteria.  Click HERE to see the agenda.  
  • The Board of Education's annual reorganization meeting will be on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm in the Ridgway Library.
  • Wednesday, December 23, 2015 will be a 4-hour day for all students and staff.  Schools will be closed from December 24, 2015 through Sunday, January 3, 2016.  School will reopen on Monday, January 4, 2016.

  • Assemblyman, Mr. Troy Singleton recently sponsored a reading incentive program for 1st - 4th grade students.  The goal was to read as many books as possible from September through November 23, 2015. Congratulations and thank you to the following grade level participants.

  • Magowan’s Winter Concert is scheduled for Wednesday, December 16, 2015.  Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the event at Ridgway School at 7:00 pm.  After months of hard work, it is sure to be a fantastic concert!
  • The PTO will sponsor the annual Holiday Shop for children, The Shop will open on December 14th and close on the 18th.

Ridgway School News:
  • Ridgway School will be hosting the annual Elks Club “Hoop Shoot” on December 5th.
  • The PTO Book Fair will run from December 14th-18th.
  • Progress reports will be issued on December 17th.
  • The Ridgway Winter Concert will be held at 7 pm on December 17th.
  • Ridgway’s Annual PBSIS Roller Skating Incentive trip will be held on December 22nd for 5th to 8th grade students who have not had a disciplinary infraction from November 3rd through the day of the trip.

  • The Ridgway Book Fair evening shop will be open 6pm - 8pm on Wednesday, December 16th during Magowans Winter Concert and also on Thursday, December 16th during Ridgways Winter Concert.  
  • Magowans Holiday Shop evening shop will be open on Tuesday, December 15th, 6:30pm-8pm.  
  • Cherrydale Pick Up is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15th between the hours of 6:00pm-8pm

District News:
  • November 20th, 23rd, 24th, and 25th are 4-hour school days for all students.  There will be no ½-day PreK on those days.
  • Both schools will be closed on November 26th and 27th for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
  • The next regular Board of Education meeting will be on Tuesday, November 24th at 6:00 pm in the Ridgway Cafeteria.  There will be a presentation on the proposed Bond Referendum.  Click HERE to see more information on the proposed Bond Referendum.
  • Teacher and Support Staff of the Year ballots and information will be sent home with all students tomorrow, Friday, November 20th.  Please take time to complete the nomination form and recognize the teacher and support staff of your choice.
Magowan School News:
  • First through Fourth grade report cards will be distributed today.  Parent Teacher Conferences start tomorrow afternoon.  Conferences will be held Monday evening from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  Afternoon conferences will be held on the 24th.  Specialists are available during conference hours.  Don’t forget to check out the Lost It, Found It table near Magowan’s office!
  • Many students have participated in the reading incentive program sponsored by Assemblyman, Mr. Troy Singleton.  All reading logs are due on Monday, November 23, 2015.  
  • Thank you for driving safely and following the established protocols during arrival and dismissal. TOGETHER WE CAN maintain a safe school community!!
Ridgway School News:
  • Conferences will be held Friday afternoon, Monday afternoon, and Tuesday night from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
  • Report cards will be issued November 19th.
  • Specialists will be available during conferences in the Ridgway gym.
  • Don’t forget to wear Purple for Epilepsy Awareness on November 24th.  
PTO News:
  • Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our 3rd Annual Designer Bag Bingo!!  Also a big Thank you to everyone who donated as well.  
  • Our next meeting is Monday, December 7th at 7pm in the Ridgway Library.  Please come out and show your support and share any ideas you may have.
  • Cherrydale Fundraiser will be sent home November 16th and due back on December 1st.  Orders will arrive and be available for pick up on December 15th.
